Sweepstakes Entry Period

Sound Credit Union Double Your Tax Refund Sweepstakes (“Sweepstakes”) begins January 1, 2025 at 12:00 a.m. PST and ends May 31, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. PST (“Sweepstakes Entry Period”).

Eligibility

Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the United States who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees of Sound Credit Union, its advertising and promotion agencies and members of their immediate families (parents, siblings, children, and each of their respective spouses and those living in the same household whether or not related) are not eligible to enter or win. Business, minor, trust, government, estate and UTMA (Unified Transfer to Minors) accounts are not eligible for the sweepstakes. Sweepstakes is subject to all federal, state, and local laws. Offer void where prohibited by law.

How to Enter

Limit of one entry per person. There are two (2) ways to enter.

Automatic Entry: To receive an automatic entry into this Sweepstakes, have your 2024 federal income tax refund direct deposited (via ACH) into your Sound Credit Union checking, money market or savings account. The direct deposit must come from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS)/Treasury. If the account has multiple owners, only the first member named on the account will be entered into the drawing. The entry date is the date on which the Tax Refund is deposited into the account. All entries submitted via automatic entry must be received during the Sweepstakes Entry Period.

Mail-In Entry: To enter without direct depositing your 2024 tax refund in a Sound account during the Sweepstakes Entry Period, legibly hand-print your full name, address, city, state, zip code, daytime phone number, and email address (all mandatory) on a plain 3”x5” piece of paper, place in a stamped envelope and mail to: Sound Credit Union, Marketing – Tax Refund Sweepstakes Entry, PO Box 1595, Tacoma, WA 98401. Your entry date is the date Sound Credit Union receives your entry at this address. All mail-in entries must be hand printed, mailed separately and bear sufficient postage. Mailed entries must be received prior to the end of the Sweepstakes Entry Period.

Conditions of Entry

Participants agree to comply with these Official Rules including all eligibility requirements. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify entrants who violate these Official Rules or interfere with this Sweepstakes in any manner. If disqualified, Sponsor reserves the right to terminate entrant’s eligibility to participate in the Sweepstakes. Any attempt by any entrant to obtain more than one (1) entry by using multiple/different email addresses, identities, or any other methods will void that entrant’s entries and that entrant may be disqualified. No entries may be submitted on behalf of another person. Limit of one (1) entry per mailing envelope. The Sponsor is not responsible for missing or partial entries or lost, late, damaged, delayed, destroyed, misdirected, incomplete, illegible, mutilated, or postage due mail. Photocopies, mechanically reproduced, forged or altered mailed entries and facsimiles are void. All entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be returned.

Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend this promotion, in its entirety or in part, should tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or other causes beyond Sponsor’s control corrupt the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper play of the promotion.

Drawing

One (1) winner will be selected by random drawing from the eligible entries within fifteen (15) days of the end of the Sweepstakes Entry Period. Winners will be selected by the Sponsor. Eligible entries made between January 1, 2025 and May 31, 2025 will be included in the drawings. The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received. All decisions are final and binding.

Prize

One (1) randomly selected winner will be awarded the amount of their 2024 tax refund up to five thousand dollars ($5,000). If the winner’s tax refund is less than five hundred dollars ($500), or if the winner entered by Mail-In Entry, they will be awarded five hundred dollars ($500). Prize is non-transferable, non-assignable and non-exchangeable. Federal, state and local tax liability and any other expenses are the sole responsibility of winner.

Winner Notification

Winner will be notified by telephone or email and need not be present to win. The Sponsor shall not be responsible for late, lost, misdirected, or unsuccessful efforts to notify winner. Winners will be required to complete and return a Form W-9 [Request for TIN and Certification] and an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release (“Affidavit/Release”) within ten (10) days of being notified or the corresponding prize will be forfeited, and an alternate winner will be selected at random from among all non-winning eligible entries received during the Sweepstakes Entry Period. To claim the prize, the winner must sign and return a release and an affidavit of eligibility and publicity release to Sound Credit Union, Marketing – Tax Refund Sweepstakes Winner, PO Box 1595, Tacoma, WA 98401-1595. Prizes will be awarded within ten (10) days after all documents have been received and verified. Prize will be deposited in the winners Sound savings account. If the winner does not have a Sound savings account, they will receive the prize by check.

For the name of the prize winner, available 90 days after the Sweepstakes Entry Period, send a self-addressed stamped envelope to Sound Credit Union, Marketing – Tax Refund Sweepstakes Winner List, PO Box 1595, Tacoma, WA 98401-1595.

Release

By accepting a prize, the winner consents to the use of their name, photographs and/or other likeness for publicity purposes without further compensation. By entering this Sweepstakes, each entrant agrees to release and hold harmless Sponsor, Sound Credit Union, and any promotional partners, and each of its and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents (collectively the “Released Parties”) from and against any losses, damages, rights, claim or cause of action of any kind arising, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, out of participation in the Sweepstakes or resulting, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize awarded in connection with the Sweepstakes, including without limitation personal injury, death, and/or property damage, as well as claims based on publicity rights, defamation, and/or invasion of privacy.

Governing Law/Jurisdiction

All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation, and enforceability of these Official Rules or the rights and obligations of participants or the Sponsor in connection with the Sweepstakes shall be governed by the laws of the state of Washington, without giving any effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules.
